Assembly Point is our lovely little Pop-up Shop, Workshop, and Artisan Studio Space in the heart of Christchurch's CBD.
Our Pop up is OPEN NOW - until early January (TBC) at this stage! We started out in July 2021, and have extended our great little pop-up for a bit longer!
Located in Shop 9/10 in Cathedral Junction, 109 Worcester Street, Christchurch - in the atrium where our iconic tram station is located. Our awesome little space is positioned inbetween the tram station and the barber shop!
Assembly Point was created out of a place of love by Debbie Porter (of Into the Wild NZ) and Cecilia Freire (of Creative Clay Studio), who wanted to create a warm community and safe space for both artisans and the community to come together in one place to celebrate the beauty that is creativity and creating!
We have works on display of around 65+ artists and makers, and more coming weekly! These artisans are mainly from Christchurch, but we are enough to have a sprinkle of amazing artisans from all around New Zealand too.
We will be offering WORKSHOPS in this space, some of which are wellness workshops (short creative sessions to uplift your day), that we can offer at a heavily subsidised rate, thanks to the Christchurch City Council Enliven Places Funding.
Our artisans also have a space to come and work on their craft, where you, as the community can come and have a peek to see how these beautiful works are made.
Our amazing bright and warm little winter space has been provided to us by Life in Vacant Spaces (Thank you!!).
We hope to bring you something a little bit different than what is currently out there in the city, and create a friendly, and welcoming hub for both you as the community, and our creatives.
We are also in a fantastic little area surrunded by great little businesses that you can really make a day of JUST hanging around our Cathedral Junction neighbourhood! Tramway Cafe is open Tues - Sun until 2pm (opening at 7 or 8am each day) for a yummy bite for breakfast or lunch! Head into Assembly Point for a visual feast! Get your hair cut at Cathedral Junction Barbers, jump on a Tram for a tour of the city! Come back for a refresher from the local convenience store! Then have a yummy dinner at Sakimoto's Japanese Bistro! The beauty that is Cathedral Junction!
